Himeko is a 5-star character from the Path of Erudition and of the Fire element in Honkai Star Rail, specializing primarily in Multi-Target damage (like all characters from this Path, actually).

She stands out for having very good damage, especially through her Follow-Up Attacks and her Ultimate. We can't deny that when it comes to damage, she performs well, although it's also true that other characters in the Path play a better role than she does.

Himeko's biggest issue is that it's difficult to trigger her Follow-Up Attacks, which significantly hampers her offensive capability. This is because we need to cause many Weakness Breaks with her, something that generally won't be easy to achieve. This is the reason why Himeko, in general, is not highly rated by the Honkai Star Rail community.
